The case
Giarre, a mother's complaint: "My son violently attacked in the city center"
Without any real provocation, the attacker lunged at the sixteen-year-old, hitting him repeatedly with unprecedented violence.
Last night in Giarre, shortly before 6 PM in the central Villa Garibaldi, just a few steps from Piazza Duomo, a 16-year-old boy was the victim of a violent attack.
According to initial reports, the young man was inside the villa when he crossed paths with a couple. A simple glance, a completely casual eye contact with the woman, was enough to trigger the brutal reaction of the man accompanying her (a foreign national). Without any real provocation, the attacker lunged at the sixteen-year-old, hitting him repeatedly with unprecedented violence.
The testimony of the boy's mother, who was assisted by emergency medical services and sustained injuries to his face and ear, paints a chilling picture. The young man was beaten to a pulp, left injured and in shock in a place that should be the vibrant and safe heart of city life. The local carabinieri are investigating.
