Ragusa, parish popular mission at Maria Ss. Nunziata
From tomorrow until March 25, a meeting of grace, encounter, and spiritual renewal
The parish Maria Ss. Nunziata in Ragusa
The parish of Maria Ss. Nunziata in Ragusa is preparing to experience, from March 13 to 25, the parish popular mission on the occasion of the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. A time of grace, encounter, and spiritual renewal that will involve the entire neighborhood through celebrations, community moments, visits to families, and initiatives dedicated to young people, families, and the elderly. On March 28, the awarding of the drawing and poetry contest is scheduled. The mission logo was created by a student from IVB of the artistic high school “Ferraris” in Ragusa. The parish priest, don Filippo Bella, presents the initiative as follows: «The Popular Mission is a gift for our entire community. In these days we wish to bring the Gospel into homes, into the streets, into hearts. These will be intense days of listening and brotherhood, during which we will rediscover the beauty of faith and mutual closeness». Tomorrow, Friday, March 13, the mission will open at 8 PM with the Eucharistic celebration presided over by the general vicar, don Roberto Asta. During the celebration, the mandate will be given to the missionaries and lamps will be given to the 16 families that will host the Groups for listening to the Gospel.
On Saturday, March 14, the day will begin at 8:30 AM with the Morning Prayer. At 4 PM, the March of Hope will take place through the streets of the neighborhood, animated by the catechism kids and the scout group. At 6 PM, there will be an Eucharistic celebration with the kids and their families. The day will conclude at 9 PM with an evangelization evening for young people at the church of San Tommaso in Ragusa Ibla. On Sunday, March 15, the Sunday Eucharistic celebrations are scheduled at 9 AM and 11 AM. At 10:00 AM, there will be a meeting dedicated to young people in the parish. The celebration at 7 PM will be animated by the parish youth center and will be dedicated to the remembrance of the deceased of the community.
Monday, March 16 at 7 PM the Eucharistic celebration will be followed by the prayer of Vespers. At 9 PM the first Gospel Listening Groups will take place in the homes of the areas Casa Futura, via Golgi, via Nunziata Nuova, via Sortino, via Beccaria, and via Monte Racelli. Don Filippo Bella adds: «I sincerely thank the missionaries, the families who will welcome them, the teams that have been working on the preparation for months, the choirs, the scouts, the altar servers, and all those who are contributing to the success of the Mission. It is a joy to see a community that sets out together». The popular Mission will continue until March 25 with a rich calendar of events, culminating in the Feast of the Annunciation of the Lord, presided over by the Bishop of Ragusa, Mons. Giuseppe La Placa.
