Comiso "city of peace", the Pd: "The approval of the bill at the Ars is due to the commitment of Hon. Dipasquale"
The city secretary Scollo: "A rightful recognition for a city that has developed a special commitment over the years"

The Democratic Party of Comiso–Pedalino expresses deep satisfaction for the approval by the Sicilian Regional Assembly of the bill that recognizes and enhances the role of Comiso as a symbolic city of the international peace movement.
An act that has its roots in the 1980s, when – as recalled by the report of the proposing deputy – "Comiso became one of the most important world capitals of the new pacifism" and when "an unprecedented mass movement" brought thousands of people to mobilize against the Euromissiles.
Central to this achievement was the commitment of Hon. Nello Dipasquale, a key figure of the Democratic Party in Sicily, who has always been attentive to the history and identity of the territories.
The city secretary of the Pd, Gaetano Scollo, clearly emphasizes: "This recognition would not have come without the constant, determined, and competent work of Hon. Dipasquale. He was the one who believed from the beginning that Comiso deserved an institutional role in the memory of the international peace movement. He pursued the proposal with conviction, sensitivity, and political skill".
Scollo adds: "Dipasquale has demonstrated what it truly means to represent a territory: to know its history, to enhance it, to transform it into a cultural and identity opportunity. For Comiso, this is an important day, and credit must be given to those who have managed to achieve this result".
The Democratic Party of Comiso–Pedalino also extends its thanks to the entire City Council, which unanimously approved the motion presented by the Pd in support of the law: "The unanimous vote of the City Council is a strong political signal. The history of peace belongs to the entire city, and today Comiso stands united in claiming its role".
For the Pd, this acknowledgment is not just a tribute to the past, but also an investment in the future: "Comiso returns to have a central role in the culture of peace. It is a reality that allows us to look ahead with satisfaction and a renewed sense of responsibility".
