Giovaninfesta 2026 in the name of Blessed Livatino: thousands of young people expected from all over the diocese

The preparations for Giovaninfesta 2026 in Canicattì are underway. An event that returns to the city after a long 23 years.

The event attracts hundreds of girls and boys from all over the diocese of Agrigento every year to the municipality that hosts it. Therefore, next May first is expected to see the arrival of numerous vehicles filled with young people in the city.

This morning, the first inspection took place in piazza Dante, where, in addition to the mayor Vincenzo Corbo, don Calogero Morgante, the parish vicar of the city, and don Giorgio Casula, the deputy director of youth pastoral care for the diocese of Agrigento, were also present.

This year, the nerve center of the religious event will be piazza Dante, where in the afternoon of May first, moments dedicated to prayer, fun, and the opportunity to build relationships and listen to life testimonies and conversions will take place.

A Giovaninfesta dedicated to blessed Rosario Angelo Livatino, and it cannot be ruled out, although official confirmation is lacking, that the body of the magistrate killed by the mafia may be made visible for the occasion, as it is kept inside the church of Santa Chiara.

Last year, Giovani In Festa was held in Lampedusa. It was the island's youth who passed the great cross symbol of the diocesan event to their peers who arrived from Canicattì.
