The Order of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts of Ragusa promotes a high-profile civic event dedicated to the referendum on justice, a central theme of the national debate that requires rigorous and informed places for discussion.
The event, organized together with the Order of Architects and the Order of Notaries, will take place tomorrow, Thursday, March 12, from 6 PM to 7:30 PM, in the “Giovanni Di Blasi” conference room, Odcec headquarters, at via Martoglio 5 in Ragusa.
The chosen title, “Referendum on Justice: The Reasons for Yes – The Reasons for No”, reflects the approach of the meeting: an open and equal dialogue, entrusted to two experienced judges, Andrea Reale and Antonio Pianoforte, moderated by journalist Viviana Sammito.
The institutional greetings will be entrusted to the presidents of the three involved Orders: Michelangelo Aurnia for Odcec, Vincenzo Pitruzzello for the architects, and Maria Scifo for the notaries.
For Aurnia, the event represents “a precious opportunity to bring public discussion back to a ground of competence and responsibility”. The president emphasizes how the referendum on justice, beyond political alignments, touches on fundamental principles of the rule of law and requires citizens to make an informed choice, based on a real understanding of the questions and their consequences.
Hence the decision to propose a moment of in-depth discussion open to the public, with speakers capable of providing a technical analysis that respects the complexity of the topic. Our role – says Aurnia – is not to influence the vote, but to create the conditions for every citizen to form an informed opinion. We believe that the quality of democracy also passes through initiatives like this, which put discussion at the center rather than confrontation.
This vision is also shared by the other professional Orders, which have chosen to support the event to promote a civil and competent debate. Tomorrow's meeting is therefore expected to be a moment of participation and awareness, a concrete opportunity to approach the referendum with the necessary tools to fully understand its significance.
