The celebrations in honor of Saint Joseph began yesterday at the Church of the Most Holy Savior in Ragusa, marking the start of a journey of prayer and sharing that will accompany the faithful until March 19.
The novena marks the days with the Holy Rosary and the Chaplet at 5:45 PM, followed by the Holy Mass at 6:30 PM.
The celebrations were inaugurated by the priests Father Luigi Diquattro and Father Corrado Garozzo, who invited everyone to entrust themselves to Saint Joseph, the guardian of Jesus, Mary, and the Church, recalling the words of Pope Francis, who describes him as a “beloved, tender, obedient, and courageous father”.
They emphasized that the community entrusts its life, present and future, families, young people, the elderly, the sick, and every relationship that shapes daily life to him (in the photo below, Father Antoci and Father Garozzo).

The program continues with very well-attended events. Every morning, from 10 AM to 12 PM, the church remains open for Eucharistic Adoration; the evening Mass is presided over by different priests from the diocese in turn and is animated by the city parishes.
Yesterday, the cycle was opened by Canon Giuseppe Antoci, parish priest of the Cathedral of San Giorgio Martire in Ragusa.
Today, Wednesday, March 11, the celebration will be presided over by Father Giuseppe Iacono and will be animated by the Parish of San Giovanni Maria Vianney.
Tomorrow, Thursday, March 12, Father Giovanni Filesi will follow, with the participation of the Parish of San Pier Giuliano Eymard; the evening will continue with a catechesis dedicated to Saint Joseph led by Father Giuseppe Cascone.
Throughout the duration of the novena, the faithful are invited to contribute to the collection of food items for the parish Caritas: a concrete sign of solidarity that accompanies the spiritual dimension of the feast and has always characterized the devotion to the Saint.
The external lighting that enhances the entire neighborhood has already been turned on.
The celebrations will continue in the coming days according to the established calendar, in an atmosphere of prayer, gratitude, and participation that unites the entire community.
