They steal the defibrillator and rip off the electrodes: a crazy act that puts everyone's life at risk.

It is an affront to civic heritage the act committed in one of the most frequented places in the town center. The defibrillator installed a year and a half ago in the seaside location of Stazzone has been tampered with and stolen. An act that cannot be labeled as mere vandalism.

It is a life-saving device, placed thanks to the generosity of the young Paolo Nocilla, who passed away prematurely and wanted to leave a concrete mark for his community. The incident was reported by Aido di Sciacca, led by Lidia Rizzuto, which has been dealing with the ongoing damage to the station for months.

This time, however, the situation is even more serious: the case has been forced open and the electrodes, essential for using the device, have been torn off and hung on a light pole.

Without them, the defibrillator is useless and anyone who finds themselves in an emergency would have no possibility of immediate intervention.

The head of Aido speaks of an act that wounds the entire city and betrays the spirit of solidarity from which the project was born. Despite the bitterness, the association has already started purchasing new electrodes and is making a call for the device to be returned.

The councilor for Social Services Agnese Sinagra has also commented on the matter, describing the episode as «an uncivil and irresponsible act» and assuring that the administration will not stand by, ensuring a more rigorous commitment with local associations to promote respect and protection of common goods.
