New movements and appointments within the Agrigento Church. The archbishop, Msgr. Alessandro Damiano, announced today, March 10, 2026, some important changes in the structure of the parishes of the Diocese, completing a renewal process that began in recent weeks.

The appointments in Sciacca

The measures announced today particularly concern the city of Sciacca, where two new entries are recorded. Don Emanuele Massimo Musso has been appointed parochial vicar of the parish Santa Maria Maddalena, while Don Angelo Luca Restivo has been entrusted with the rectory of the Church of San Giuseppe.

Casteltermini and Cattolica Eraclea

The official document also summarizes two positions made operational last February 1: in Casteltermini, the community of Gesù e Maria welcomes Don Pastor Mgeni in the role of parochial vicar; in Cattolica Eraclea, on the other hand, Don Benjamin Mlawa has taken on the role of parochial vicar at the parish Santo Spirito.

The Archdiocese, in disseminating the new decrees, expressed thoughts for the involved presbyters, accompanying the announcement with a message of hope: “Let us accompany these our brother presbyters with prayer as we entrust to the Lord the need for peace of all humanity.”
