Bridge over the Ippari River, work completed: but there is a minimal height difference

The static testing of the bridge over the Ippari River, along the Sp 18 that connects the side of Santa Croce Camerina to Vittoria, is underway.

This is a state-of-the-art infrastructure, equipped with two joints that ensure a high level of elasticity for the structure, allowing it to adapt even in the presence of seismic events, unlike conventional bituminous pavements.

In recent days, the mayor had reported a slight unevenness between the stretch of roadway that precedes and the one that follows the large iron structure connecting to the bridge.

During an inspection, the technicians from the Province reassured the president of the Free Consortium, Maria Rita Schembari, and the mayor of Vittoria, Francesco Aiello, explaining that any discontinuities between the traditional roadway and the bridge are entirely minimal.

The company will need to complete the finishing touches to regularize the connection between the new structure and the existing road.

Once the work is completed, an official communication will be issued, and within a few weeks, the Sp 18 will be reopened to traffic.
