Ragusa, the unions demand answers about the local police
A platform of claims has been presented regarding the main issues that operators face daily
The territorial secretariats of Fp Cgil, Cisl Fp, Uil Fpl, Csa, Cse Flpl, and Silpol have announced the outcome of the assembly of the local police personnel of Ragusa, which took place on March 6, 2026 with wide participation.
A document has been sent to the mayor, the local police commissioner, the council group leaders, the general secretary, and the relevant managers to illustrate the main critical issues that operators face on a daily basis.
Among the priorities that emerged is the protection of older personnel, with the proposal for a voluntary exemption from external services upon reaching 60 years of age.
The trade unions have also requested the restoration of the funds provided by L.R. 17/1990 and a more transparent communication regarding service improvement projects, often known to employees only through pay slips.
It has also been reported that there is irregularity in the payment of additional salary, with a request to ensure greater continuity in the establishment of the Decentralized Resources Fund.
The unions have drawn attention to the failure to apply regulations regarding mandatory training and self-defense equipment, urging the adoption of a permanent training plan.
On the front of equipment and infrastructure, the serious state of obsolescence of service vehicles has been reported, many of which have been in use for over twenty years.
Critical issues have also been found in the command and vehicle depot premises, where hygienic-sanitary problems and deficiencies in security systems have been recorded, aggravated by the intrusion that occurred in December 2023.
Further problems concern the supplies of service clothing, the request for clarifications on the possible establishment of a new detachment in Donnafugata, and the marked obsolescence of IT systems, which slows down verification activities and creates inconveniences for users.
To address the overall situation, the trade unions are requesting the establishment of a permanent technical table and the urgent convening of a meeting with the commanding officer and the municipal administration.
In the absence of feedback, personnel reserve the right to evaluate further union initiatives provided for by current regulations.
