Federico Chiesa leaves the retreat: out for two matches, Nicolò Cambiaghi arrives

Federico Chiesa leaves the national team retreat.

After checking his physical condition upon arriving at the Federal Technical Center, he was deemed unavailable for the next two matches. In his place, the Bologna player Nicolò Cambiaghi has been called up. 

The national team gathering begins today in Coverciano and in the afternoon will hold the first training session in preparation for the World Cup playoff semifinal against Northern Ireland scheduled for Thursday, March 26 (8:45 PM, live on Rai 1) at the Bergamo Stadium.

"Chiesa had some physical issues and we decided it was pointless for him to stay. We decided this together, both him and I." So said the national coach, Gennaro Gattuso, about the Liverpool forward who has left the Azzurri's retreat.
