The absolute silence lasted a week, then Mimmo Toscano entrusted his social media page with a thank you message to Catania and the people of Catania. A sincere letter, straightforward as the character is. Even the final jab where he alludes to the victory achieved by his players at the end of the match against Altamura which did not prevent the dismissal that, as understood from the subsequent press conference, that of the presentation of Viali, had been decided regardless of whether a match was won or not.

The text of the full letter from the now former coach of Catania. "A week has passed since our paths separated, and I still struggle to process the bitter feeling for an ending I imagined to be different. I wanted Catania with all my strength because I knew that the ambitions of this city were as great as mine."

Furthermore, Toscano admitted: "I faced many difficulties and learned that what can be complicated in other places is even more so here. But this has never scared me; on the contrary: it was a greater motivation. Many things did not go as I would have liked, but I leave with the serenity of someone who knows they never held back, believing until the end that we would achieve the goal together, even if through a side door."

A nod to the club, without polemical behind-the-scenes, one to the fans: "I thank the Club for wanting me here, and the club staff for accompanying me on this adventure. And then the fans. Massimino, for a year and a half my home, gave me emotions I will never forget. Thanks to those who overwhelmed me with a huge amount of messages and affection, and also to those who criticized me while having better solutions at hand than mine: this too is the beauty of football."

And here the most significant passage dedicated to the players: "Finally, but not least, my boys. An extraordinary group that made me proud in the happiest weeks and in the most complicated moments, for the way they tried to react to difficulties. The last image of them that I carry with me is the final minutes in Altamura, where they demonstrated not only that they are exemplary professionals, but also that they always believed in me at least as much as I believed in them.

Good luck and a hug to everyone, Mimmo Toscano.
