Messina's draw in Vibo, a 'light' point: direct salvation moves further away
Match ended in a goalless draw in the direct clash and the two teams remain in second-to-last place in the standings.
It is a point that does little for Messina, perhaps more for Vibonese. The giallorossi draw at Razza and remain in second to last place in the standings, firmly in direct relegation zone.
It is a Messina that under the management of Vincenzo Feola cannot win, even though in the end today they came close with the post hit four minutes before the 90’ by Zerbo.
In Vibo, Messina focused more on containing the opponent, trying to take few risks and then build, facing several difficulties in finding Tedesco, the only point of reference up front since Tourè and Oliviero on the flanks often performed containment work rather than offensive play.
It is a Messina that gave the impression of not wanting to try fully because when they tried to accelerate, they put the Calabrian defense in serious difficulty. As happened in the first half with the chance at the feet of Saverino after the assist from Tedesco and midway through the second half with Zucco, whose shot went just over the crossbar. For the giallorossi, it is a point that needs to be “weighed” against the results of direct competitors. There is still the possibility of reaching the play-outs but the race for direct salvation that seemed within reach just a few weeks ago now seems much farther away.
