Third day and fourth medal for Italy with the silver of Larissa Iapichino in the long jump (6.87) at her first world championship podium in her career, while what could have been the fifth podium faded in the shot put with Leonardo Fabbri, the seasonal leader with 22.50, who finished in seventh place with a mark of 20.92 and in ninth place the other Italian Nick Ponzio with 20.37. Gold to New Zealander Tom Walsh with 21.82 ahead of the two Americans Jordan Geis (21.64) and Roger Steen (21.49).

And in the afternoon, the possibility for Italy to continue dreaming and especially to improve the medal tally to stay on top after the three golds of Andy Diaz (triple jump), Nadia Battocletti (3000), and Zaynab Dosso (60 meters) and the silver of Larissa Iapichino (long jump). Sveva Gerevini this morning achieved a personal best in the 60 hurdles with 8"25, one hundredth better than the Euroindoor in Apeldoorn 2025, finishing seventh in the race won by Anna Hall (USA) in 8"18. The Italian athlete then cleared 1.72 without errors in the high jump, matching her seasonal best and becoming sixth with 1952 points, while the Dutch Sofie Dokter (2153) takes the lead. In the shot put, the Lombard athlete set a personal record with 13.10, an increase of ten centimeters compared to last year, ranking ninth with 2686 points and in contention for her Italian record. The challenge continues between Dokter (2942) and Hall (2926), with Irish athlete Kate O’Connor (2909) in third place.

In the heats of the 60 hurdles, the race of the two Italians came to an end in the first round: Giada Carmassi, fifth in her heat with 8"05, just two hundredths away from qualifying for the semifinals, while Elisa Di Lazzaro finished sixth in her race with 8"10.
