Athletics: at the indoor World Championships, Italy achieves a magical triple gold, after Diaz and Battocletti, Zaynab Dosso is the queen of sprint.

The Azzurra won the 60-meter final in 7"00 and today we will be cheering for Mattia Furlani (long jump), Leonardo Fabbri (shot put), Larissa Iapichino (long jump), and Federico Riva (1500) who are in contention for the podium.

The last two finals of the second day of the indoor athletics World Championships brought Italy its third gold medal. After the triumphs of Andy Diaz in the triple jump and a stellar Nadia Battocletti in the 3000, the world title in the 60 meters went to Zaynab Dosso, who with 7.00 seconds beat all the best. Silver went to the American Jacious Sears and with the same time (7.03 seconds) bronze to the Saint Lucia sprinter Julien Alfred, Olympic gold in the 100 meters.

In the 60 meter hurdles, Lorenzo Simonelli, last but with his head held high, finished with 7.52 seconds in his third consecutive World final, close to his seasonal best of 7.50 seconds. Gold went to the Pole Jakub Szymanski (7.40 seconds) ahead of the Spaniard Enrique Llopis (7.42 seconds) and the American Trey Cunningham (7.43 seconds).

And tomorrow is the final day and emotions will run high as there are four Italians in medal contention: Larissa Iapichino indoor European champion in the long jump final (starting at 10:10); Leonardo Fabbri in the shot put (at 11:30 and with him in the ring also Ponzio) world bronze medalist is the current seasonal leader with a mark of 22.50 and in the afternoon the spotlight will be on at 18:38 for the 1500 final where we have a Federico Riva in great shape and closing at 19:12 with the long jump final where the world champion Mattia Furlani will be in the ring after a 2025 to remember: double indoor world gold in Nanjing and outdoor in Tokyo.
