Between falls and twists, Di Giannantonio takes the pole in Goiânia.
Spectacular session full of incidents: Ducati VR46 rider outsmarts everyone. Marquez in the front row, Bagnaia making a comeback.
Fabio Di Giannantonio signs the achievement on the qualifying Saturday at the Autódromo Internacional de Goiânia. On the track named after the legend Ayrton Senna, the Roman rider of the Ducati VR46 team secures a very important pole position at the end of a chaotic, spectacular session marked by numerous falls that reshuffled the competitive order.
"Cursed" Qualifying: Chain of Falls
Despite the pole, "Diggia"'s session was not without thrills: the VR46 rider was indeed one of the many protagonists who ended up on the ground during the time attack. Alongside him, heavyweights like Marc Marquez, Pedro Acosta, and especially Francesco Bagnaia also tasted the Brazilian asphalt. The eagerness to tame the pitfalls of the Goiânia circuit betrayed many, making the final classification a mix of speed and resilience.
The Front Row and Surprises
Behind Di Giannantonio will be the Aprilia of a solid Marco Bezzecchi, confirming the Noale bike's affinity with the Brazilian ups and downs. Closing the front row is the official Ducati of the reigning world champion, Marc Marquez, who despite the fall managed to secure third place, reaffirming himself as the man to beat for the race.
Great signs of revival for the Yamaha of Fabio Quartararo, who grabs a very valuable fourth place ahead of the other Aprilia of Jorge Martin. The Spaniard, a protagonist of a sparkling start to the season, will have to defend himself from the Frenchman's attacks at the start.
Bagnaia on the Rise, Sprint Tonight
The big disappointment of the day is undoubtedly Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia. The Piedmontese rider, slowed down by a fall that prevented him from taking advantage of the last set of soft tires, could only manage eleventh place on the grid. An uncomfortable position that will force him to race aggressively from the first meters to avoid losing touch with the championship leaders.
The weekend program is now heating up: there is no time to catch a breath, as the green light for the Sprint Race will turn on tonight at 7 PM. These will be the first heavy points of this Brazilian weekend that promises sparks and twists.
