After the triumph in the triple jump by Andy Diaz, the blue athlete who won the gold for the second consecutive time, the morning of the second day of the Indoor Athletics World Championships in Torun brought emotions for the blue colors, but in the only final scheduled, Christian Falocchi failed to clear 2.22 and with 2.17 remained far from the podium he aimed for, following the 2.30 he cleared 20 days ago.

Looking ahead to the finals this evening, Zaynab Dosso and Kelly Doualla advance in the sprint, and in the 60 hurdles, Lorenzo Simonelli has no problems, another blue athlete in the running for the podium. This morning, we had never seen a Zaynab Dosso so mentally serene, free from thoughts and overflowing especially in the acceleration phase. "I no longer feel the responsibility, only the gift of being able to run" explains the blue athlete: "this long day is not managed: it is lived!"

The indoor European champion and world indoor silver medalist and seasonal leader with 6.99, ran in the heats in 7.07, absolutely improvable, especially in the starting phase and speeding up the reaction time (0.174).

The Dosso preceded Canadian Audrey Leduc (7.20) and Swiss Leonie Pointet (7.21) and recorded the third overall time behind Jamaican Brianna Lyston and Olympic gold medalist Julien Alfred who ran in 7.06.

The blue athlete Kelly Doualla, 16 years old, in action

There was curiosity for the debut in the absolute National team of Kelly Doualla, 16 years and 121 days, the youngest in the entire World Championships in Torun and in blue history, and the Lombard sprinter, Under 18 European record holder, responds with increasingly surprising maturity, flying into the semifinals with third place in her heat in 7.27. "I had so much fun - I tried to laugh, to hum my songs to stay as calm as possible. What an honor to debut at 16 years old at a World Championship in the lane next to a champion like Alfred".

Swede "Mondo" Duplantis

For the two blue athletes in the semifinals starting at 8:14 PM, in search of a spot for the final scheduled for 9:20 PM, on a night that will see the Swede "Mondo" Duplantis on the pole vault runway at 6:25 PM, fresh off his 15th world record with 6.31.

Returning to the morning events, Lorenzo Simonelli made a strong impression in the 60-meter hurdles heat (7.65). "Great control of the race - I'm confident, I need to improve my reaction time for tonight's semifinal".

Elisa Coiro out of the 800 final

In the 800 semifinals, great Eloisa Corio but it wasn't enough. The blue athlete placed in the toughest of the semifinals, alongside world record holder Keely Hodgkinson, finished in 1:59.33, just eight hundredths off the indoor Italian record of Elisa Cusma (1:59.25 in Karlsruhe in 2009), but remains out with the fourth overall time. A disappointment. "I'm very disappointed, but I can still consider myself satisfied - on Monday I was at home with a fever, now I'm here talking about a 'almost final' and an 'almost Italian record'. It gives me confidence for the outdoor races".

Nadia Battocletti

And in the middle distance tonight at 7:04 PM the final of the 3000 meters will see Nadia Battocletti ready once again to surprise everyone in a race that is not her specialty, but one that has accustomed us to surprises.
