A morning that immediately gifted us with two highlights from the heats of the 60 meters with direct qualification for the semifinals for the two Italians Samuele Ceccarelli and Filippo Randazzo.

Samuele Ceccarelli finished in 3rd place in the first heat with a time of 6"62, behind the Dutchman Taymir Burnet (6"56) and the New Zealander Tiaan Whelpton (6"58). A great performance from the Etnean Filippo Randazzo, who came third in the fifth heat with a time of 6"63, behind one of the favorites for the title, the Jamaican Kishane Thompson (6"56) and Ali Al Balushi (Oman), 6"62, leaving the Brazilian Gabriel Dos Santos behind with the same time.

“Woke up at 6:30, it's never a given to run fast - said the Tuscan Samuele Ceccarelli, gold medalist at the indoor European Championships in Istanbul 2023 - I broke the ice with the same time as three years ago in Istanbul…”. “As a former jumper - commented Filippo Randazzo - I took it as a qualification for the long jump. In the semifinals, we will have the opportunity to express ourselves with more interesting times.” The fastest was the American Trayvon Bromell (6"52) while the British Jeremiah Azu, the defending champion, finished in 6"55.

SEMIFINALS OF THE 60 AT 20:16 WITH CECCARELLI AND RANDAZZO
At 20:16 Samuele Ceccarelli and Filippo Randazzo will return to the track for the semifinals and at 22:12 the final is scheduled. Filippo Randazzo, a student of Prof. Filippo Di Mulo in Torun as the head of the blue speed team, will need to surpass himself to make it to the end and especially improve his personal best of 6.59 achieved in February in Paris. 400 women out Bonora, in the heptathlon Dario Dester starts well. In the women's 400 meters, a great performance is not enough for the blue Alessandra Bonora, who achieves her personal best finishing in 3rd place in the first heat in 52.20, just 7 hundredths of a second from the second place that would have given direct qualification to the semifinals. In the heptathlon, the blue Dario Dester starts well, with the third overall time in the 60 meters at 6.93, just two hundredths from his personal best achieved three weeks ago at the Indoor Championships in Ancona, during his Italian record of 6,121 points.
