The world of entrepreneurship and sports mourns the passing of Michael Bambang Hartono, who died at the age of 86 years. The Indonesian magnate was known in Italy primarily for becoming, in 2019, the owner of Como 1907 along with his brother Robert Budi. The two entrepreneurs, figures of absolute importance in the global economy, were at the helm of the Djarum Group, a worldwide tobacco giant. However, their activities also spanned other strategic sectors, boasting solid interests in the banking sector through Bca and in electronics with the brand Polytron. This diversified empire has allowed the family to accumulate a total estimated wealth of over 43 billion dollars.

The management of the Larian football club, operationally entrusted to president Mirwan Suwarso, has been profoundly revitalized by the entry of the Indonesian ownership. The sports company issued an official statement to express its sorrow and deepest condolences to the Hartono family and all members of the Djarum Group. In the note, Como 1907 emphasizes with deep gratitude and respect how the guidance and vision of the family have allowed the team to open a new and ambitious chapter in its long football history.
