Skeet shooting: the golden gun of Catania's Matteo D'Amico doesn't miss a shot

The young Sicilian shooter Matteo D'Amico doesn't miss a shot. The talented athlete from the Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Oro is confirming his place among the best in Italy in clay shooting, and the latest gem came from Vibo Valentia during the prestigious competition "Uno d'Oro", the historic event in the youth sector organized by the Italian Federation of Clay Shooting.

The competition took place on two shooting ranges: Tav La Torre in Pisa and Tav La Tranquilla in Vibo Valentia, and Matteo D'Amico triumphed, winning against approximately 200 young shooters who participated in this event, which remains one of the most prestigious in the Italian landscape.

Matteo D'Amico, making his debut in the Junior category, dominated the scene in skeet, a success that confirms the growth path of the young athlete from Catania in a discipline where he is demonstrating great consistency and performance solidity.

"The competition was tough - recounts Matteo D'Amico with his father Antonio, who is his biggest fan - and made even more challenging by difficult weather conditions. Rain and wind significantly affected the trajectories of the targets, making the competition technically very complex. Despite this, I maintained great concentration until the last series, managing to prevail over opponents of absolute value."

Matteo D'Amico won the skeet competition ahead of Domenico Diana and Michele Manzella, two other promising shooters in the Junior category, confirming the high level of the competition. The three talents were awarded by the Modican Adriano Avveduto, a prominent figure in Sicilian and national clay shooting, Fitav Federal Counselor and multiple Universal Trap champion. A key figure for the Polisportiva La Contea, Avveduto is a former national team member and current technical and sports leader of Fitav Sicilia.
