Modica soccer celebrates and is already looking to the future.
On Sunday, there will be the home match against Acquedolcese of former Mincica.
A popular celebration under a steady drizzle welcomed the team from Modica, fresh from their victory against Leonzio in Scordia, which achieved promotion to Serie D with a remarkable four matchdays to spare, after fifteen years of absence.
As soon as the doors of the bus opened, Raciti's team triggered a roar from the crowd, not just fans and sports enthusiasts, gathered in piazza Matteotti, the venue for every historic event in the city, with Mayor Monisteri and some councilors giving a proper welcome to a team that brings the city back to the glories of national headlines. To put it in the words of the numerous social media posts: "the place that the city and the club deserve".

The celebration lasted long with fireworks and the inevitable buckets of sparkling wine that the club had carefully preserved, warding off bad luck while waiting for this extraordinary moment, which drenched hundreds of people amidst songs, slogans, and dances, making the atmosphere even more euphoric.
Now is the time for celebrations even though thoughts are already looking to the future. The ownership, Mattia Pitino and Luca Gugliotta, along with president Peppe Rizza, are already thinking ahead. They start from some solid foundations: the coach Filippo Raciti, confirmed to stay, will need to create a new cycle. He is tasked with building a team capable of playing in Serie D without worries, that earns respect and without distractions.

The club is open to new resources. The condition is adherence to a serious and solid project, with possible prospects. Seven/eight elements will be confirmed and useful for facing a tournament of a much higher level than the one just won. A list of seven new under and as many overage players has been drafted for these new additions. The fan base, enthusiastic and composed, is growing: it has truly been the twelfth man on the field both at home and away. Other significant issues remain on the table. The management of the “Pietro Scollo” Stadium, which the rossoblù club would like to govern, to have free rein over the management of the facility, which will undergo new interventions: covering of the B stand, installation of seats in the A stand, new services for spectators (restrooms, bars, and more). The financing of two million euros (contract by the end of April) includes the new stadium fencing, but this intervention will require longer times and a press stand worthy of the name.

Modica, meanwhile, is competing for another important result: the winning of the Discipline Cup of group B of Excellence. It is currently in second place behind Rosmarino. The yellow card received by Belluso in Scordia, already warned, will result in a one-match suspension for the forward, and this does not help in scoring points.
On Sunday, a home match against Acquedolcese, of the former Mincica.
It will be another opportunity to celebrate, among the friendly walls, a promotion that has received, on social media posts, a flood of congratulatory words from amateur clubs in Southern Italy.
