Ribera heads to the polls, Ruvolo "fires" two councilors: "Political paths different and distant from my team"
The mayor: "An act necessary in light of the changed political landscape"
Matteo Ruvolo, mayor of Ribera
The mayor of Ribera Matteo Ruvolo today revoked the appointments of councilors Giovanni Di Caro and Emanuele Clemente, who had been in office for about three years.
"Following - reads a note from the mayor - the request formalized by Mayor Matteo Ruvolo, lawyer Giovanni Di Caro has submitted his resignation today from the position of councilor. The mayor thanks Di Caro for his work, emphasizing how the decision to resign represents an act of institutional correctness in light of the changed political landscape."
At the same time, the mayor clarifies that "since no similar determinations have been received from Councilor Emanuele Clemente, the mayor has proceeded today to sign the revocation of the delegations concerning him."
According to Matteo Ruvolo, the decision became necessary following the choice of the outgoing councilors to pursue different political paths that are distant from the team and the list that the mayor will present to the citizens for the upcoming electoral appointment. There are rumors in the city that Di Caro and Clemente are close to mayoral candidate Carmelo Pace.
