Referendum, the results in Catania: the No over 63%, in the province only in three municipalities the Yes wins

The province of Catania finds itself, with a good dose of surprise, stronghold of the No. With almost all votes counted, the victory is clear with over 60 percent and a majority in almost all municipalities of the metropolitan city. Only two are exceptions.

In Catania city, the No stands above 63% and the voter turnout is 42.46%, among the lowest in the province. But with huge differences between the central sections where voter percentages are even above 60 percent and many sections of the more peripheral neighborhoods with negative peaks below 15 percent turnout.

Looking at the data from other municipalities, there are only three out of 58 where the Yes prevails: they are Maletto with 50.11 and Mazzarone with 55.2 percent. A nail-biting finish in Maniace, where in the end the Yes wins by just six votes: 50.30% against 49.7% for the No. 

In all other centers of the province, the No wins. The record goes to San Cono where the No dominates with 72.7 percent of the preferences, but also Scordia (69%), Raddusa (68.89%), San Michele di Ganzaria (68.7%), Licodia Eubea (65.9%), Misterbianco (65.2%), Militello Val di Catania (65%), Gravina (64.59%) exceed 60%.
