The video message from the Prime Minister in light of the results of the consultation on Justice
"The Italians have decided. And we respect this decision. We will move forward, as we have always done, with responsibility, determination, and respect for the Italian people and for Italy." This was stated in a video message by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, commenting on the victory of the No vote in the referendum on justice.
"Sovereignty belongs to the people, and the Italians have expressed themselves clearly today - she added. - The government has done what it promised: to carry forward a justice reform that was written in our electoral program. We supported it to the end and then put the choice back to the citizens, and the citizens decided. And we, as always, respect their decision."
"There is clearly regret for a missed opportunity to modernize Italy - the President of the Council added - but this does not change our commitment to continue with seriousness and determination to work for the good of the nation and to honor the mandate that has been entrusted to us. We will move forward, as we have always done, with responsibility, with determination, and above all with respect for Italy and for its people."
