Plot twist in the local elections: Riccardo Romano is the fourth mayoral candidate.
The political landscape is fracturing and the lists rise to ten.
When it seemed that the political games for the mayoral candidacies were already settled, here comes the fourth candidate just two months before the election date. This was announced in a statement by Riccardo Romano, whose entry into the race had been speculated for some time. The official presentation of the candidacy will take place in the coming days. A civic list, “Società Civile Ribera”, will support him in the race for the town hall. This thus disrupts the local political landscape, which now sees an increase in lists, possibly even ten, participating in the administrative electoral competition that will have about 160 competitors running for the city council. The other candidates for mayor are Maria Rosaria Provenzano, a school principal, Carmelo Pace, a member of the Ars, and Eunice Palminteri, a manager and entrepreneur.
Romano's candidacy for mayor has been discussed for months by the candidate himself, who for the past couple of years has been addressing issues on the Facebook page regarding the dysfunctions and hardships of the city and its population. He announced that the program will focus on several key points, such as: Local development, social cohesion, and personal services; Culture, sports, and well-being as levers for social growth; Education and youth policies to give space and perspective to new generations; Urban redevelopment and decor; Agriculture and tourism, strategic sectors for the development of the territory; Permanent defense of the “Fratelli Parlapiano” hospital, a fundamental facility for the community.
