Caught while dumping waste on the street
The Municipality of Gravina strengthens controls and, in addition to the assistance of cameras, requests the collaboration of citizens.
There is no room for incivility in the municipal area. Thanks to the vigilant eye of the surveillance cameras positioned in the area, a citizen was caught and identified while attempting to illegally abandon waste on the street.
The incident, which is part of a broader urban decorum monitoring operation, underscores the firm stance taken by the municipal administration against those who ignore the rules of civil coexistence. However, the control activity does not stop solely at the repression of illegal acts, but continues with a constant verification of the quality of cleaning services offered to the community.
The mayor Massimiliano Giammusso wanted to provide an update on the situation, highlighting the teamwork carried out in recent days to ensure that the waste management contract is respected in every aspect. "Even today (yesterday, ed.) - explains the mayor - we dedicated ourselves with the support of the relevant councilor, Federica Ingaglio, the offices, and the staff responsible for verifying the correct execution of the contract for the separate waste collection and additional ecological services of street sweeping, weeding, and cleaning of drains."
The outcome of the latest inspections appears positive, with a particular focus on a critical border area that required urgent intervention. "The ordinary service is proceeding according to the established plans - adds Mayor Giammusso - A joint operation was carried out on the overpass entering the city from Via Passo Gravina (in the territory of Catania) regarding the waste situation. The fight against degradation cannot rely solely on sanctions and cameras - continues the mayor - it requires the active participation of every single resident. We renew the invitation to respect the waste disposal methods to avoid undermining the work of the operators."
