Montante was sentenced (with the plea agreement) to 5 years and 10 months for corruption and unauthorized access to the Sdi, but he does not go to prison.

The former leader of Sicilian industrialists Antonello Montante has been sentenced to 5 years and 10 months in prison for corruption and unauthorized access to the Sdi until 2014: the sentence is the result of a settlement between the parties that was accepted by the second section of the Court of Appeal of Caltanissetta. Agreed sentences were also given to Diego De Simone Perricone for 2 years and 10 months (defended by Marcello Montalbano) and to Marco De Angelis for 2 years and 8 months (defended by Monica Genovese). However, Montante will not go to prison because the former "champion of anti-mafia" has a substantial pre-sentence credit resulting from the precautionary measure triggered by the investigation of the Nissena Dda. 

The appeal trial bis arises after a cancellation with referral by the Supreme Court in 2024 for a portion of the charges. The Supreme Court had made definitive part of the allegations but the judges established that Montante (defended by Boris Pastorello) was not at the head of a criminal organization. Thus, the first chapter of the judicial affair stemming from the "Double face" blitz that took place in May 2018 comes to a close. The motivations of the Court of Appeal of Caltanissetta will be deposited in 90 days. "I am waiting to read the motivations, but this sentence certainly downsizes the initial accusatory hypothesis," comments lawyer Montalbano.

Montante remains defendant before the panel of the Court of Caltanissetta for the second branch of the trial and in Asti for the bankruptcy of his Msi company.
