The United States' military operations against Iran are proceeding at a rapid pace, even as Donald Trump considers new diplomatic avenues that have "just emerged". This was clarified by the White House after the President announced a five-day suspension of raids on Iranian energy infrastructure to facilitate a negotiation to end the conflict and open a dialogue channel with Tehran, with Pakistan indicated as a possible mediator. “While President Trump and his negotiators explore these newly emerged diplomatic possibilities, Operation Epic Fury continues relentlessly to achieve the military objectives outlined by the Commander-in-Chief and the Pentagon,” stated spokesperson Karoline Leavitt in a note to AFP. “We have been successful in Venezuela and we are having success in Iran as well”, Trump asserted, emphasizing that the United States is speaking in Iran with the “right people,” namely those who “want to make a deal. We will see what happens” (ANSA). The negotiations with Tehran involve, among others, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance. “Iran would like a deal”.
