Eight nighttime attacks targeted a U.S. diplomatic and logistical center at the Baghdad International Airport. This was reported by an Iraqi security official, specifying that the assaults, "carried out until dawn with rockets and drones", aimed at the American presence and that "some rockets fell near the base". A police source also reported the discovery of a rocket launcher in a neighborhood of the capital near the airport.
In the evening, three airstrikes hit in Iraq, about 50 kilometers south of Baghdad, targeting fighters of the Hashed al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces), a coalition of former paramilitaries that includes pro-Iranian armed groups. Local authorities announced this. The raids affected the Jurf al-Sakhr region, a heavily fortified area where faction activities are concentrated, particularly targeting the Kataib Hezbollah Brigades, a group official told AFP. "Units of the PMF… were hit by drone attacks and airstrikes, with three attacks in different locations", a crisis cell established by local authorities communicated, adding that, since "the targeted positions were deserted", there are no reported injuries.
