Polling stations open in France for the second round of the municipal elections: a dress rehearsal ahead of the presidential elections in 2027.

The polling stations have opened in mainland France for the second round of the municipal elections, the last major consultation before the presidential elections of 2027. Voters are called to the polls in 1,580 municipalities or districts, out of about 35,000 French municipalities, many of which elected their municipal councils last Sunday. Due to the time zone, voting has already begun in New Caledonia, Réunion, and Mayotte.
