There could be some answers about the type of action that the anarchists Alessandro Mercogliano and Sara Ardizzone, who died yesterday in the collapse of the farmhouse at the Aqueducts Park, intended to carry out, coming from the nature of the device they were building. The investigations will focus, in particular, on the type of explosive used to assemble the bomb and thus understand its magnitude. In particular, it will be determined whether it is a substance that is commercially available or explosive used in quarries. The presence of nails, found during the investigations, would suggest a kind of 'qualitative leap' compared to a demonstrative action.

According to investigators, it was Mercogliano and Ardizzone who caused the explosion while assembling the homemade device intended for a forthcoming action. Their network is now under scrutiny to clarify the details of the plan and identify what the target of the attack was. Among the lines of inquiry is the possibility that the explosive could have been used to relaunch the campaign in favor of Alfredo Cospito or for new actions along the railway network, which had already been hit in February by several sabotages of anarchist origin on the High-Speed line during the Milano Cortina Olympic Games. Meanwhile, the Anti-Terrorism Strategic Analysis Committee (Casa), chaired by the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, has begun its work at the Viminale. The Committee was convened after the explosion at the farmhouse in the Aqueducts Park in Rome.
