In a message released today on the occasion of the Iranian New Year, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Mojtaba Khamenei, stated: «At the moment, the enemy has been defeated, thanks to the particular unity that binds you together, our compatriots, despite all differences in religious, intellectual, cultural, and political backgrounds». The message attributed to Khamenei was transmitted by State Television in written form, as he has not yet appeared in public or on television since being elected leader.

Khamenei also denied that the Islamic Republic has attacked Turkey and Oman, claiming that it is a “plan” by Israel. «I would like to remind you that the attacks against Turkey and Oman - both countries that have good relations with us - against certain points in these countries have not been carried out in any way by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic or by other forces of the resistance front», Khamenei stated in a message attributed to him by Fars, adding that it is «a plan that the sionist enemy is implementing» to sow discord among neighbors.

«This is a tactic that the sionist enemy is implementing using the false alarm technique to sow discord between the Islamic Republic and its neighbors, and it could also happen in other countries», Khamenei said, while Ankara declared in recent weeks that three missiles from Iran heading towards its airspace or that had entered it were intercepted by the NATO defense system, and Oman also reported a series of attacks against its ports or its energy infrastructure.
