An Italian mountaineer has died and another has been seriously injured today following a rockfall on the Mont Blanc massif.

The victim was named Carlo Chiodini and was participating in a course for aspiring guides, organized by the Alpine Guides College of Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The incident occurred in France, in the midday, at an altitude of 3,400 meters on the Grand Flambeau. According to reports, a guide instructor was also part of the group and remained unharmed.
