Gholamreza Soleimani killed: the IDF claims to have eliminated the commander of the Basij, responsible for the violent repression in Iran.

"The Israeli Air Force, acting on the basis of intelligence information, targeted and eliminated Gholamreza Soleimani, who had been operating as the commander of the Basij unit for six years, the forces that are part of the armed apparatus of the Iranian regime."

The Israeli army Idf reports, adding that during the internal protests in Iran, particularly in the more recent periods when the demonstrations intensified, the Basij forces under Soleimani's command led the main operations of repression.
