Today increases in diesel and gasoline across Italy, with gasoline exceeding 1.8 euros on the highway and diesel nearing 2.10 euros, stopping at 2.094. This is reported by Unc (the National Consumers' Union) specifying that according to Mimit data reprocessed by the consumer association itself, the regional average for diesel reaches 2.04 euros, while gasoline is at 1.74. Even Marche, which yesterday was the only region selling diesel below 2 euros, crosses that threshold.

Unc notes that according to the Mimit data reprocessed today, the most expensive diesel, not considering highways, is sold in Bolzano at 2.063 euros per liter, in second place is Valle d'Aosta with 2.057, and the bronze medal goes to Sicily with 2.051 euros.

The highest daily increase is for Valle d'Aosta and Friuli Venezia Giulia, where a full tank of 50 liters costs 1 euro and 30 cents more than yesterday.

For gasoline, Basilicata wins with 1.773 euros per liter, silver medal for Bolzano with 1.767, followed by Calabria with 1.764 euros. The largest increase is in Friuli, +0.60 euros per refueling. The most virtuous region, for both gasoline and diesel, remains Marche.

Diesel prices

The complaint from Codacons: "Average diesel prices are rapidly heading across Italy towards the threshold of 2.1 euros per liter and "at this rate in just 4 days the tax cut ordered by the government will be completely offset by increases in pump prices, with prices that, despite lower taxation, will return to pre-decree levels." The consumer protection association, which reprocesses the regional data published by Mimit every day, emphasizes that diesel is currently sold on average at 2.037 euros per liter and the highest prices are recorded in Bolzano (2.063 euros per liter), Valle d'Aosta (2.057 euros/liter), Sicily (2.051 euros/liter), while on the highway diesel has reached 2.094 euros per liter.

On the gasoline front, the average price today in Italy stands at 1.743 euros per liter, 1.804 euros on the highway. "An unrelenting escalation of fuel prices that today causes motorists an economic damage of almost 9 euros per full tank - denounces Codacons - Compared to the prices in effect before the cut of the excise duty by 24.4 cents, in fact, diesel prices have only decreased by 6.6 cents, largely nullifying the government's intervention and bringing the cost of a full tank of diesel to almost 9 euros more. According to the consumer protection association, the real alarm is that at the end of the tax measure reducing excise duties, which will only last for 20 days, and with the application of normal excise duties, "the average price of diesel, if the increases continue at this pace, will shoot above 2.5 euros per liter throughout Italy."
