Modica, Councilor Antoci: "Unlock hundreds of stalled applications"

With a directive signed by the head of Sector III, the municipal administration makes a clear, courageous, and decisive shift in the management of building permit applications.

For years, in fact, hundreds of applications have remained suspended or delayed due to restrictive interpretations of the regulations, with negative repercussions on citizens, professionals, and the entire construction sector.

The new act provides the offices with a uniform, transparent interpretative guideline in line with the latest jurisprudence.

The cornerstone of the directive is as simple as it is decisive: the limit of 750 cubic meters set by the regulations is alternative to the 30% threshold and pertains to the maximum volume of illegal constructions that can be regularized.

This clarification allows for the unlocking of numerous procedures and finally provides concrete answers to users.

This is an innovative interpretation that marks a paradigm shift in the field of building regularization and places the Municipality among the first to adopt this approach, with the aim of definitively overcoming the uncertainties that have hindered the issuance of regularization measures for years.

The expected effects are immediate and tangible: many applications can be processed and concluded positively; properties that have been “frozen” will return to being fully regular, restarting a significant component of the local market.

Regularization, in fact, restores value to properties, facilitates buying and selling, access to credit, and new investments, with widespread benefits not only for owners but for the entire local economy.

Councilor Antoci emphasizes: “We strongly wanted this intervention, working in synergy with the offices and the municipal legal department to ensure a solid solution from a legal standpoint and practical utility” and appeals to those with pending applications: “it is time to get informed.
