The female presence in the Italian automotive market stabilizes in 2025: women - according to the latest analysis by Unrae - represent 41.7% of new car purchases (unchanged) and 39.3% of used cars (slightly increasing).
Women spend on average less than men: about 25,200 euros for new cars and 8,400 euros for used cars, with a growing price gap.
In terms of preferences, they mainly choose city cars (segments A and B) and compact SUVs (B-Suv).
The choice of hybrid cars is sharply increasing (44.3%), while gasoline cars are declining; electric and plug-in vehicles are increasing but remain less common compared to men.
From a demographic perspective, the main buyers are aged between 30 and 55 years.
In terms of colors, gray and white dominate, with a growth in green.
Finally, women own 40.5% of the Italian car fleet, with a prevalence of gasoline vehicles.
