One morning to put yourself first. On Saturday March 28, 2026, the Giovanni Paolo II Hospital in Sciacca will transform into a center of health and awareness on the occasion of the “Blue Month for Colorectal Cancer Prevention”. The Provincial Health Authority of Agrigento has indeed launched the initiative “I Don't Waste Time”, an extraordinary Open Day aimed at breaking taboos and shortening the distances between citizens and public health.

From 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the hall of the Sciacca hospital will become the beating heart of the initiative. Here, men and women aged 50 to 69 will be able to collect the kit for colorectal cancer screening free of charge. This is not just a distribution of materials, but a true information point where healthcare personnel will be available to explain how a simple home gesture can prevent one of the most common and insidious oncological diseases.

The commitment of the ASP of Agrigento for this prevention Saturday does not stop at the “Blue Month”. The healthcare offer expands with a targeted focus on women's health. Mammographic Screening: at the Radiology service (from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM), women in the age group 50-69 will be able to access exams directly and free of charge; Cervical Cancer Prevention: the Gynecology department will open its doors for the execution of free Pap Tests, dedicated to women aged 25 to 64.

The initiative also sees the light thanks to the active support of the local volunteer associations, health sentinels who work every day to spread the culture of early diagnosis.

"Prevention is the most powerful tool we have to reduce mortality and incidence of oncological diseases", emphasize the ASP of Agrigento, renewing the invitation not to miss it.

The call from health authorities is clear: early diagnosis is not a waste of time, but an investment in one's future. On Saturday morning, in Sciacca, health takes the field.
