Black gold shines again: ribbon-cutting ceremony in the presence of the prefect
At the Chiaramonte Castle in Favara, a well-attended and significant inauguration of the new Multimedia Museum of Sulfur took place, an event that marks the return to the city of one of its most iconic places. The noble floor, reopened after more than thirteen years of closure, provided the backdrop for a solemn ceremony that saw the presence of civil and military authorities and representatives of the territory.
Among those present was the Prefect of Agrigento, Salvatore Caccamo, accompanied by the highest provincial officials of the Law Enforcement. Also present were the president of GAL Sicilia, Olindo Terrana, and the president of the regional Circuit of Castles, Mario Cicero.
During the ceremony, the municipal cultural heritage officer, Giacomo Sorce, spoke, emphasizing the value of the initiative: not just a simple recovery of spaces, but environments intended to live and welcome students and visitors, in a continuous dialogue between memory and innovation. Next to him, the municipal councilor for culture, Carmen Lo Presti, highlighted the importance of administrative continuity that made possible the completion of the project and its opening to the public.
