Intense day for Civil Protection in the territories of Monterosso Almo and Chiaramonte Gulfi, where the rapid drop in temperatures and the precipitation in recent hours have covered several road sections with slush and ice, making traffic difficult and in some cases dangerous.

In Chiaramonte, in particular, the bad weather has created critical issues along some municipal and provincial roads, with slippery accumulations that required immediate intervention. The teams from the Alfa Group of Chiaramonte, supported by municipal workers, sprang into action as early as the first hours of the afternoon to remove the slush, clear the roadways, and secure the most exposed sections. The operations mainly involved the hilly areas and regions more prone to ice formation.

At the same time, in Monterosso Almo, the volunteers from Rangers Europa worked along the main connecting roads, intervening with mechanical means and specific equipment to restore safety conditions and ensure passability. Here too, the presence of ice made a timely and coordinated intervention necessary.

In both locations, the use of salt spreaders has also been initiated, which is essential to prevent the reformation of ice during the evening and nighttime hours. The goal is to restore full usability of the road network within the next few hours, minimizing inconvenience for residents and motorists.

The local administrations and the Civil Protection groups urge citizens to exercise caution while traveling, especially in the higher areas and during the early morning hours, when the risk of frost remains high.

Interventions will continue until the weather conditions return to complete stability.
