A violent hailstorm hit the SP 10 in the afternoon at the Monterosso–Chiaramonte intersection, turning the road into a completely icy surface and making traffic impossible. The most critical situation was recorded along the Ragusa–Chiaramonte road, heading towards Chiaramonte, where several vehicles were trapped in the thick layer of hail accumulated on the asphalt: some cars were unable to proceed, while a minicar and a heavy vehicle were immobilized on the roadway, effectively blocking traffic. The road conditions prevented drivers from moving safely, increasing risks for traffic and forcing authorities to completely close the stretch.

On-site, the Police and the Urban Police of Ragusa intervened, engaged in traffic management and securing the area, while the Firefighters of Ragusa are assisting stranded motorists and turning back vehicles heading towards Chiaramonte, unable to cross the pine forest due to the ice. Currently, motorists can only return to the city via the SS 115, the only passable route. The arrival of Provincial vehicles is awaited, necessary to remove the hail and clear the roadway, allowing for the restoration of normal traffic. The area remains constantly monitored by law enforcement, while operations continue without pause.
