At the Classical High School of Modica, the IV B decided that facing the oral exam on Monday required a more creative plan than usual. No unlikely excuses, no hidden charms in the backpack: this time the students aimed high, very high. They thought that if they were going to attempt the opportunity of a lifetime, they might as well do it with an ally capable of moving more hearts than an entire library of classics: Adam Sayf, fresh off the podium at Sanremo.

The Genovese rapper, still surrounded by the echo of success, was enlisted as an “extraordinary ambassador for the cause of anxious students”. And so, between a beat and a birthday to celebrate, he recorded a video message directed at Professor Teresa Floridia, inviting her – with irony and charm – to postpone the oral exam in the name of art, music, and, why not, her special day.

The scene, already surreal in itself, took an even more epic turn when the professor entered the classroom. She recounts it herself in an interview with Vr: «I walked in pretending to be angry, but it was just a game. I must say I appreciated their initiative: they always talk about problem solving, about skills… and they certainly found a solution. Of course, they could have asked me directly and I would have said yes: I have no desire to see “exhausted” students, as they defined themselves. I always prefer dialogue, confrontation. We cannot think that kids should behave like we did: we also need to meet their modalities».

Floridia (in the photo above) smiles as she recalls the moment: «They chose Sayf because they saw in him the perfect spokesperson for their requests. And I must admit they made me laugh, a lot. I still laugh today. The only thing that leaves me perplexed is that I became viral for this… and not for all the work I do in social issues, as president of the Ipso Facto association against violence against women, or for book presentations and cultural events. But that's fine: the video went viral in a few hours».
