A project funded with Pnrr funds for 1.54 million euros has restored to the city the new rock balcony, defined by the superintendent Antonio “Nino” De Marco as “the rock paradise”, considered one of the most beautiful and evocative in Sicily. A work that symbolically unites the past and the future and serves as a hinge between the Cava and the urban center. Along the scenic route, there are urban gardens, play areas for children, fitness spaces, kiosks, benches and tables, a dog park, and a magnificent viewpoint. The ceremony was attended by don Antonio Forgione, parish vicar, and the superintendent of Ragusa Nino De Marco, who, along with archaeologist Saverio Scerra and lawyer Alessio Santacroce, contributed to the realization of the project.

The Rizzuto family was also present, with Mrs. Rina and her son, architect Audenzio Rizzuto. Next to them, the entire group of professionals involved: the sector head, geom. Salvatore Nigito; the designer, arch. Sergio Abate; the RUP, geom. Giuseppe Caschetto; the safety manager, arch. Salvo Barone; the executing company Consorzio Stabile Galileo di Vittoria; the Pnrr consultant Natalia Carpanzano; the energy manager, ing. Alfredo Genovese. The participation of students from the institutes “L. Da Vinci” and “P. Pio da Pietrelcina”, accompanied by administrators and teachers, was particularly heartfelt. “Beautiful things are the result of teamwork”, emphasized Mayor Leontini and Pnrr Councillor Massimo Dibenedetto, recalling how the project fits into an organic strategy for urban and tourist enhancement. A mosaic of interventions that includes the lighting of churches and historic buildings, the upcoming opening of the first city museum, the reopening of Parco Forza, and the new square in Santa Maria del Focallo, confirming the Administration's planning capacity, particularly that of the Department of Public Works and Pnrr. “We have done our part” – conclude Mayor Leontini and Councillor Massimo Dibenedettonow we hand the work over to the City. Citizens must live and safeguard it. We must reclaim our spaces.
