Scicli, hard times for the uncivil. Controls on waste disposal are increasing.

In the historic center of Scicli, cases of garbage bags, often mixed waste, hanging from public bins are multiplying: a convenient yet illegal trick, in blatant violation of waste collection regulations.

The door-to-door collection service is regularly provided at users' homes, yet some — fortunately a small minority — continue to choose the shortcut of attaching their bag wherever they see a “sensible hook”.

The litter bins serve an entirely different purpose: they are intended for those who do not reside in Scicli and do not have a domestic account for waste disposal, certainly not for the disposal of household trash.

The municipal police and the environmental hygiene service will intensify controls, also through modern image acquisition systems, to identify and penalize the uncivil.
