Monterosso Almo, everything is ready for Saint Joseph

Monterosso Almo is preparing to experience a weekend rich in faith, tradition, and participation on the occasion of the 5th Sunday of Lent and the external feast of Patriarch Saint Joseph.

The program continues today, Saturday, March 21, at 6:30 PM with the solemn Eucharistic liturgy presided over by Mons. Sebastiano Roberto Asta, general vicar of the Diocese of Ragusa: a moment of reflection that introduces the community to the spiritual atmosphere of the occasion.

At 8:00 PM, at the pastoral center "P. Pino Puglisi", the "Father's Day Celebration" will take place, a community gathering focused on conviviality. The schedule includes a tasting of cavati and sausage and the awarding of the "Fathers and Sons" foosball tournament.

The climax of the celebrations is expected tomorrow, Sunday, March 22. At 7:30 AM, the firing of bombs and joyful ringing of bells will announce the solemn day, followed by the Holy Masses at 8:30 AM and 10:00 AM, the latter presided over by Don Giuseppe Antoci. At 9:30 AM, the band will traverse the streets of the town, spreading a festive atmosphere that will involve the entire community.

The most awaited moment will be at 11:00 AM, with the exit of the venerated statue of Saint Joseph and the start of the traditional procession along the main streets of the center. During the route, the blessing of the various altars dedicated to the Saint is scheduled, a concrete sign of solidarity, this year destined for the Ursuline Sisters in Niscemi.

The day will conclude at 7:00 PM with the evening Eucharistic celebration, followed by the awarding of the "San Giovanni 2025" Photo Contest and the drawing of the lottery dedicated to Saint Joseph.
