It is not just a mobility project, but a true cultural bridge that the "Anna Frank" Comprehensive Institute is building towards Europe. Accredited by the National Agency INDIRE for the three-year period 2024-2027, the Agrigento school is preparing to experience a week as the absolute protagonist of the Erasmus+ program.

A grand welcome

From Monday, March 23 to Friday, March 27, Agrigento will become an open-air laboratory. Teachers and students from Hungary, France, Spain, Romania, and Portugal will be welcomed in a festive and cooperative atmosphere. The curtain will officially rise on Monday, March 23 at Casa Sanfilippo, with a welcome from the Principal, Alfio Russo. The connection with the territory will be formalized on Thursday, March 26 at the Collegio dei Filippini, where the mayor Francesco Miccichè will convey the greetings of the entire community to the foreign delegations.

Teaching goes beyond the classroom: between Temples and Marna

The beating heart of the initiative lies in an educational offering that abandons traditional lectures to embrace discovery-based learning. The chosen settings are not random:

Valley of the Temples: three outdoor learning workshops will take place among the Temple of Juno, the Hellenistic-Roman Quarter, and the evocative Sensorial Garden.

Scala dei Turchi: the majestic white marl cliff will provide the backdrop for workshops on geology, art, and physical education.

Historic Center: an immersion in the ancient heart of the city to discover its millenary soul.

Professional exchange and creativity

While students will engage in workshops on music and poetry, the teachers will be involved in job shadowing activities. This is a moment of advanced training in which the teachers of the "Anna Frank" will share with their European colleagues the innovative methodologies applied by the Institute, confirming the school as a center of educational excellence in the Sicilian landscape.

The role of families: the value of hospitality

The success of the initiative rests on a fundamental pillar: the community. There are as many as 21 Agrigento families who will open their homes to foreign students. A gesture of generosity that transforms the school experience into an opportunity for human growth, allowing young people to engage with different lifestyles in a perspective of global citizenship.

The "Anna Frank" Institute thus demonstrates that schools can be the driving force of an internationalization that starts from the grassroots, enhancing the beauties of the territory and investing in the future of their students.
