Fire at the fruit and vegetable counter in Scicli, Confcommercio: "Economic operators concerned"
After the incident in the square of via Ospedale, the stance of the trade association
Confcommercio expresses its solidarity with the owners of the fruit and vegetable stand in Scicli, affected by a fire last night on via Ospedale.
Investigations by the law enforcement agencies are underway regarding the incident.
The episode represents a further blow to the city's productive fabric, already severely tested by similar incidents recorded in recent weeks in the province.
The president of the Confcommercio section of Scicli, Daniele Russino, assures support for the affected operator and emphasizes the need to increase surveillance measures: “It is our duty to express solidarity and, at the same time, to call for a strengthening of prevention and control actions. Incidents like this penalize the entire commercial sector and create a climate of insecurity that we cannot afford.”
In the same vein, the provincial president of Confcommercio Ragusa, Gianluca Manenti, has already intervened firmly after the cases in Comiso and Acate.
Manenti recalls that a meeting in the Prefecture is scheduled for March 26, during which the association will reiterate the concerns of a sector increasingly exposed to criminal phenomena: “This will be an opportunity to represent to the institutions the growing unease of economic operators. Commerce is a fundamental social safeguard and must be protected by all means. We demand quick responses and effective measures.”
Confcommercio confirms its full willingness to collaborate with the competent authorities and renews its appeal to ensure safety conditions, an essential prerequisite for the economic and social life of local communities.
