Prayer and sharing for an initiative that is gaining more and more ground.
Muslims in prayer in Comiso
Moment of prayer and sharing also in the province of Ragusa for the conclusion of Ramadan.
The Islamic community gathered in Santa Croce Camerina, at the Santa Rosalia sports center, to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the occasion that marks the end of the holy month.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Peppe Dimartino, the Deputy Mayor, and the President of the City Council, present to bring the greetings of the administration to the faithful.

“This year we have also welcomed the request to use a public space to celebrate this occasion – said the mayor –. It is a sign of attention towards a community that represents an important part of our country and a further step towards integration and mutual respect.”
The mayor also renewed, on behalf of the entire administration, best wishes to all Muslims for a “day full of meaning”.
Similar celebrations took place in other centers of the province: in Comiso, at the Municipal Pinacoteca, and in Vittoria, in the spaces of the former concentration camp. A sign of increasingly broad participation and a growing intercultural dialogue in the area.
In Vittoria, the celebrations continued in the afternoon with an event promoted by Granaio Culturale, Auser, Koiné Vittoria and the cooperatives Semi Diversi and Iride.
At the Youth Aggregation Center in Piazza Henriquez, there was music, songs for children, and a buffet of typical Arab sweets.
