Sunday, March 22 Ragusa Ibla will transform into an open-air stage for the Living Stations of the Cross, starting at 8:30 PM from the Church of San Francesco all’Immacolata.

Promoting the performance are the youth of the Mother Church of San Giorgio, who with passion, creativity, and a strong sense of belonging have also involved other city parishes, giving life to a project now shared by the entire Ragusan community.

After the success of the first edition, the event returns with an even broader scope: costumes meticulously crafted, suggestive scenery, a lighting design that will accompany the journey, and dozens of performers engaged in bringing the narrative of the Passion of Christ to life.

The baroque streets of Ibla will become the place where art, spirituality, and popular participation intertwine, offering attendees an experience capable of touching deep chords.

The route will pass through some of the most iconic places in the neighborhood, guiding the faithful in a meditation that aims not only to be a memory but an invitation to pause, observe, and allow oneself to be questioned.

The power of the representation, made possible by the joint work of technicians, volunteers, and young performers, aims to speak to everyone: believers, the curious, visitors.

The invitation is extended to the entire city of Ragusa: families, youth, the elderly, and anyone wishing to experience a moment of intense spirituality and beauty are called to reach Ibla to share an experience that unites tradition and contemporaneity, faith and community.

The Living Stations of the Cross on March 22 thus confirms itself as one of the most significant events of the Ragusan Lenten journey: an event that grows, renews itself, and continues to speak with the simple and universal strength of the Gospel brought to life.
