“Following our administrative appeal, and simultaneous report to the media, we can affirm that the constitutional rights of the patient from Ragusa have been restored.” This is highlighted by the civic committee Article 32.

“Let’s summarize the facts – it is explained – on March 18, the patient, in response to a request from the doctor for an ultrasound to be performed within 60 days, receives an appointment for November 2027, that is, after 20 months. The next day, March 19, the patient turns to our volunteers, who immediately file the administrative appeal, and the association sends a note to the press to denounce the outrageous abuse. On the evening of March 19, the association is contacted regarding the matter by a national television network. On March 20, the health company, pressured by our initiative, redefines the appointment and sets the date for the service to June 18, 2026. In short, within a few hours, 17 months of waiting disappear for the patient from Ragusa. At this point, “the patch” on the gap of legality confirms our concerns.”

“Within the health company – the committee explains – parallel pathways operate within the booking system ?? Who are those who access the second pathway, which is faster and more respectful of legal norms?! From the documentation we publish, it emerges that the same appointment was redirected to “pathway B” in less than 24 hours. In conclusion, while we are satisfied with the result achieved after our intervention, the need for clarity on a mechanism, which we believe is opaque, remains valid, according to which for some users appointments are literally closed, for others there are unacceptable waiting times, and for others still, the indications of the attending physician are respected.
